Roy Kizer Tournament Results

Results for Roy Kizer are now available.

  • CTGA welcomed New Members CARL JUERN and MIKE RICHARDSON, and Special Guest CONNER LOWE to our Roy Kizer tournament.
  • Although there were apparently some early pace issues, all CTGA 4-somes finished within 4:30. It’s important that we continue to strive to achieve our Pace of Play goal.
  • We have 2 events remaining before our Christmas and New Year’s break. Our 2014 calendar year schedule should be finalized and sent to all members before Christmas.

Congratulations to our Flight winners….

Teravista Results

Teravista results are now available.

  • CTGA welcomed New Members DAVID ANCIRA, DOUG JOHNSON, JOE JOHNSON, and JAMES RUSH, and Special Guest TROY WEIDE to our Teravista tournament.
  • Our Pace of Play efforts took a wrong turn at Teravista. Most 4-somes finish times were more than 5 hours. A number of us spent much of the day in a “Hit and Wait” mode that was frustrating. I apologize for us not having our 2014 Pace of Play guidelines completed yet and will make sure it’s finalized and sent to all members prior to our November 30 tournament at Roy Kizer.
  • We have 3 events remaining before our Christmas and New Year’s break. Our 2014 calendar year schedule is looking better each day and we intend to unveil it for Christmas.

I’m using the famous quote from Alfred E. Newman’s Mad Magazine as my 2014 weather pledge….”What, Me Worry?” Since our October Fall Classic, Austin meteorologists have put the fear of probable inclement weather on tournament day, only to be blessed with excellent playing conditions. Same was the case yesterday. Neither rain nor wind were a factor….just another great day for CTGA golf.

Congratulations to our Flight winners….

  • 1st Flight…Brian Melnyk (75/68) Welcome back from Malaysia
  • 2nd Flight…Azure Ju (76/67)
  • 3rd Flight…Bruce Halgren (81/63) with a new driver.
  • 4th Flight…Randall Westbrook (95/67)

Also, special Kudos to….

  • Gavin Moreland for his Low Gross 72
  • Paul Cole closest to the hole on Par 3s….5’ 0” – hole #11
  • Brian Melnyk for winning both 1st Trash Flight Close-to-Pin holes
  • And finally to Paul Cole again for the only Deuce in the 2nd Trash Flight

(thanks to Bruce Halgren’s opting out of Skins & Deuces)
