Quicksand Results

Quicksand results are now available.

  • CTGA welcomed New Member NICHOLAS FRANKLIN and Special Guests DAVID BRANDT and CONNER LOWE to our Quicksand tournament.
  • I still have a Callaway X18 Pitching Wedge that someone left at Falconhead.  If not claimed by Saturday, I will take it back to Falconhead.
  • Jimmy Clay will officially reopen on Saturday, August 15 and CTGA will be the first tournament on this newly renovated course.  We still have room for more players, so if you want to play, please let us know today.
  • A correction on the date of our Shadow Glen tournament….this event will be on Sunday, August 23 and not Saturday, August 22.  I apologize for the initial schedule error

Jimmy Clay Tournament Specifics

Jimmy Clay pairings are now available.

  • The Jimmy Clay driving range is closed for renovation.
  • Under no circumstances are golf carts to be driven into the driving range.
  • USGA officials were onsite today to officially Slope/Rate the new layout.
  • Let’s make sure we all repair ball marks on the greens and rake the bunkers.
  • Out of Bounds and all hazard boundries will be marked for our tournament.
  • We have room for ONE more player at Jimmy Clay on a first come basis.  If your plans have changed and you would like to play, please let us know ASAP.
  • Congratulations to Eddie Nunez for his second ever Hole-In-One at Roy Kizer #15 on Monday, August 3.

This information will be posted at the Jimmy Clay Pavilion prior to start of play.

 

All players should be at the course, signed in and ready to play at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled start time.

 

Scott Preece and Steve Barnes will be the Directors in charge of this event, assisted by Eddie Nunez.  Please direct tournament day questions or concerns to them.

 

FORMAT:  4-Player Team ~ Designated Hitter  (Format details will be attached to the Team Official Scorecard.

 

BUBBLE TEAMS:  These Teams will move into 1st or 2nd Team Flight depending on the Blind Draw of Dave McGuire’s Team and Tyler Hausmann’s Team (if Kinny Ochoa has to withdraw due to work).

 

1st TEE TIME:  9:04

 

TRASH FLIGHT CARRYOVER:   Deuces Carryover in the 1st Trash Flight this event.  See attached Deuce Flight Carryover for details.

 

TEES TO PLAY:  All Men will play White Tees and all Ladies will play Red Tees

JIMMY CLAY DRESS CODE:  They do not have a specific dress code.  However, CTGA requests all players to dress consistent with Country Club dress policy.  They are a Soft Spike facility.

 

SATURDAY WEATHER FORECAST:   A cooling trend with temp at 81 degree at start time and not to exceed 95 at finish.  If the weather turn bad, call Eddie Nunez (512-797-0566) after 8:00 for status of play.

Quicksand Tournament Specifics

Quicksand pairings are now available.

Quicksand is an 8:30 Shotgun Start, so please make sure you give yourself ample time to get there from your starting point.

 

  • Unless complications arise, the scheduled reopening of Jimmy Clay will be on the day of our tournament there…August 15.  Let’s open the course with a great turnout.
