Star Ranch Tournament Specifics

Star Ranch pairings are now available.

  • CTGA welcomes New Member NICKKO NUNEZ and Special Guests JAIME ARP and RYAN BOHAC to our Star Ranch tournament.
  • Those who may want lunch at Star Ranch prior to play can pay an additional $7.50 at the course.
  • After Star Ranch, we’ll have 7 tournaments remaining prior to our 2013 Fall Classic and 5 events left to make sure you qualify for our FedEx Cup Playoffs. Detailed information will be sent out early this week regarding participation year-to-date for both.

All players are responsible for knowing tournament specifics including Pairings, Assigned Tees, Flights, Starting Times, and Rules of Play. This information will be posted at the Star Ranch pro shop prior to start of play.

All players should be at the course, signed in and ready to play at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled start time.

Kevin Lowe and Scott Preece will be the CTGA Directors in charge of this event, assisted by Eddie Nunez. Please direct tournament day questions or concerns to them.

FORMAT: Medal Play

TOURNAMENT COST:

Tournament Fee (Green Fee and Player Pool) - $66.00

(includes Shared Cart and Range Balls)

Skins & Deuces - $5.00 each

 

1st TEE TIME: 1:30

1st & 2nd Flight Men play BLUE TEES

3rd & 4th Flight Men play WHITE TEES

Ladies play RED TEES

 

TRASH FLIGHT CARRYOVER: No Carry-over in either Trash Flight

 

CLOSE TO PIN HOLES: 1st Trash Flight - # 7 & #15; 2nd Trash Flight - # 4 & # 12

 

KODAK CHALLENGE HOLES: # 2 and # 16.

 

THURSDAY WEATHER FORECAST: Sunny, breezy and warm, with no rain in the forecast. If, however, the weather does turn bad, call the golf course (512-252-4653) or Eddie Nunez (512-797-0566) after 12:00 on tournament day for status of play.

 

CTGA PACE OF PLAY: We’ll continue to push for our 4:30 pace target. Star Ranch has reminded us of their pace expectations. Note that penalties will be assessed for “Excessive Slow Play”.

 

STAR RANCH DRESS CODE.... They do require proper golf attire. With this, CTGA requests all members and invited guests to dress consistent with upscale country club requirements. They are a soft spike facility.

White Wing Results

White Wing results are now available.

  • CTGA welcomed New Members PAUL McCARTY, KEN PECK and JASON WUERZ, and Special Guest BILL SYDES to our White Wing tournament.
  • I apologize for the delay in getting our White Wing results out to everyone, but both Kevin Lowe and I were out of town. We’ll do our best to avoid this problem in the future.
  • Another reminder that our next event is a WEEKDAY tournament at the ever popular Star Ranch. We always look forward to returning to this great course.

FORMAT: Medal Play

 

FLIGHTS: Four (4) Flights, flighted by player Handicaps.

 

TEES TO PLAY:

       1st Flight Men play BLACK TEES

       2nd & 3rd Flight Men play GOLD TEES

       4th Flight Men play BLUE TEES

 

SHOTGUN START: 8:00

 

CLOSE-TO-PIN COMPETITION: Two (2) CTP Flights

        Please use attached Proximity Marker sheets

 

DRESS CODE: CTGA requests all members to dress consistent with upscale course requirements and have been advised that White Wing is a soft spike facility.

       4 Proximity Markers for our Close-To-Pin competitions

       Individual Scorecards for each player

       Scoresheet to record Results by Flight

Scott Preece and Sean Nunez will be the Directors in charge of this event.

CTGA will collect all fees from members at the course and pay White Wing at the agreed on player fee of $45.00, including tax.

 

Forecast for Saturday looks great with no expectation of showers in the area. If the weather does turn bad, our members have been instructed to call the golf course after 7:00 for play status. I’ll be in touch with the course by then..
