Vaaler Creek Results are now available.

  • CTGA welcomed New Member GARRETT CLYDE to our Vaaler Creek tournament.
  • Note that we paid out 4 places in the 3rd Medal Play Flight only.  Our procedure is to pay at least 30% of the field in each Flight and with the 3rd Flight having 12 players to only 9 and 10 in the other Flights, it made sense to pay that 4th Place.

  • Tod Alderman with the Low Net Round of the Day – 65
  • Closest Par 3 shots of the day:

1st Trash Flight:  Chad Winkelmann – 4’ 8” on #5

2nd Trash Flight:  Karl Wacker – 10’ 4” on #9

We had a Net Scorecard Playoff with Garrett Clyde, Dan Owens and Adam Sinclair tied for 1t Place in the 1st Flight, all with Net Scores of 69.  After calculating the Net Back 9 Scores, Garrett and Dan were still tied with Net Scores of 33.  Adam’s Net 36 knocked him out at that point.  Next calculation was Net Scores on the last 6 holes of the Back 9.  Garrett won with Net 21 to Dan’s Net 22.  Congratulations to all 3 for their great play.

SHOTGUN START:  8:30

 

TRASH FLIGHT CARRY-OVER:  No Carry-over in either Trash Flight this event.

CLOSE TO PIN HOLES:  1st Trash Flight - #5 & #15;    2nd Trash Flight - #9 & #12

 

CTGA CHALLENGE HOLES:  #3 and #18.

 

REMINDER #1:  Unless otherwise marked as Out of Bounds on the course or posted in the scorecard, all major ungroomed areas outside the 2nd cut of fairway will be played as a Penalty Area.

 

REMINDER #2:  Search time for lost balls is limited to 3 minutes.  PLEASE COMPLY with this new USGA Rule.

 

Vaaler Creek dress code is consistent with Country Club attire.  CTGA requests that all players dress consistent with their policy.  They are a Soft Spike facility.

 

SUNDAY WEATHER FORECAST:   No prediction at this time.  We’ll let the experts make the call this time.  If the weather turn bad, Eddie will send information on status of play by 7:00 Sunday morning via Remind and email.

SATURDAY WEATHER FORECAST:   Not wanting to jinx our event, I reluctantly show that the weather for CTGA golf on Sunday should be great with wind at about 4mph.  If, however, the weather turn bad, call Eddie after 9:00 on Saturday morning (512-797-0566) as he’ll be in touch with the course by then.
