2012 CTGA FedEx Cup Competition

Our 2012 FedEx Cup is a season-long competition in which players accumulate points based on their finish in CTGA Individual Format tournaments, followed by a year-end Elimination and Finals Playoff to determine our FedEx Cup Champion.

Our 2012 FedEx Cup competition consists of 2 segments:

  1. All scheduled Individual Format events beginning October 22, 2011 to our Elimination Playoff rounds prior to our 2012 Fall Classic;
  2. A 4-Round Playoff for all qualifiers:
    1. Two Elimination Rounds prior to our 2012 Fall Classic;
    2. Two Final Rounds concurrent with our 2012 Fall Classic.

2012 FedEx Cup Competition Eligibility and Formula

  1. FedEx Cup competition is limited to 2012 active CTGA members only;
  2. All CTGA members will compete in FedEx Cup competition unless they opt out within their first 3 events. Members who initially opt out are ineligible for FedEx Cup competition after their 4th event;
  3. 2012 FedEx Cup entry fee - $10.00, paid prior to the Member’s 3rd tournament.
  4. Minimum number of rounds to qualify for FedEx Cup Playoff include:
    1. 2011 returning Members and New Members who join in Q-4, 2011 must play in 8 FedEx Cup events, including 2 after May 1;
    2. New Members who join between January 1 and March 31 must play in 7 FedEx Cup events, including 2 after May 1;
    3. Members who join after April 1 must play in 5 FedEx Cup events.
  5. FedEx Cup points will be awarded to all players based on how they finished within their respective Flights;
  6. Year end points accrued are divided by the total events played to determine the base Average Points per Event;
  7. To create equity based on the number of FedEx Cup rounds played, year end Average Points per Event will be adjusted using a formulated Sliding Scale based on participation Quota (see FedEx Cup Sliding Scale – Actual Rounds To Quota);

FedEx Cup Playoff

  1. 2-Round Elimination Playoff Rounds:
    1. Open to all qualifying members;
    2. 2 Elimination Flights determined by player handicaps;
    3. Playoff points are earned based on Net Scores within each Elimination Flight;
    4. Six players within each Elimination Flight with the most Playoff points earned (added to the Adjusted Average Points) advance to the FedEx Cup Finals.
  2. 2 Finals Playoff Rounds:
    1. All Finals players will compete in a single Flight to be played concurrent with our 2012 Fall Classic;
    2. Round 1 finalists will continue to earn points based on Low Net Score;
    3. Playoff Points will be reset for the Final Round based on the total points accrued during the 2 Elimination Rounds and the 1st Finals Round;
    4. Players accrue points in the Final Round based on Net Scores which are added to the reset points;
    5. The player with the most points after Finals Round 2 will be the 2012 FedEx Cup Champion, 2nd highest point total will be 2nd, etc.
